Incorrect Fuel in Vehicle Seaton, Cumbria

It was 6.30pm on a Saturday and while we were promised a dry and fresh day, it had not ceased pouring down rain! Ray and I were relaxing talking over the tennis, ready for the 8th telephone call of the day to arrive. Finally we received a phone call from a lovely woman on a company excursion who had arrived at the Shell petrol garage in Seaton and filled the wrong fuel in a diesel modern Volvo V70 rental car. The poor thing was fairly distressed apparently, saying "I can not believe I've ruined the car! I am so used to putting petrol in my petrol car I completely forgot that I was operating a diesel!" We asked her to calm down and not to be concerned, plus that these things unfortunately do happen. She had managed to relocate the vehicle into a protected space and, seeing as it was just a short distance from the office, we could get to her quickly. The incorrect fuel was taken out and she was able to return to the motel she was staying in. Despite the fact that we got very soaked, it was all rewarding to watch her drive away relaxed and a lot less anxious. One more fuel drain in Cumbria well done in my books!

Petrol inside a Diesel Vehicle Seaton, Cumbria

Such fantastic temperatures we are experiencing throughout the UK, seems like summer time is really upon us! We obviously had the van windows down as we set off to our third customer for the day who was having trouble by the side of the road in Seaton soon after the driver put wrong fuel in her expensive Jeep Cherokee. She appeared a lttle bit disappointed on the telephone when I took the call, but that would definitely completely change when we had sorted out the problem. "I arrived at the Tesco station to top up, and drove down the road. However I had merely traveled about half a mile when suddenly the car quit. It was only then that I realised I had used the petrol pump instead of diesel. I do not know precisely why I did this. Now I am extremely upset!" she exclaimed. We arrived on scene with her, put her mind at ease and did what we do. Every single day in Cumbria we have issues similar to this one, it's quite a common situation, and so there's no need to be upset if you could have done the same.
